director
My interest in male health covers physical, emotional and spiritual dimensions.
My new role as a director of a cancer solutions charity finds me a leader of a program called Prostate Mates
My interest in threapeutic stretching and yoga has a place withing the Prosate Mates program along with emotional/psychological support and of course bringing in the spiritual dimension.
Following is some information about G’day Yoga - a series of simple 5 minute yoga routines. I designed this format for clients on wilderness rafting trips in Oregon many of whom were in their advanced years. The form has also been most suitable for cancer patients I work with.
How does it work?
Contact me for private yoga therapy sessions to help people recover from, or manage illness and injury - or just to help you establish your daily practice.
Graceful Aging:
As we age it becomes more important to engage in regular but gentle exercise.
Since yoga is low impact, it is ideal for people with injuries, various forms of chronic illness and normal wear and tear.
Don't be put off by common YOGA MYTHS: E.G.
Myth - you need to be flexible to do yoga.
Fact - many people who are stiff, sore or have tight muscles find yoga greatly improves their flexibility.
Myth - Yoga best suits women only
Fact - The benefits for men (of all ages) are considerable.
Fact - Wives are the first to comment how yoga has helped their husbands to be calmer, more relaxed, more sensitive and, rather wonderfully, more active in bed. Goodbye Viagra!
Myth - You have to do 90 min classes to gain benefits from yoga
Fact - Short practices, done regularly (5-10 mins) of carefully designed yoga poses can be more effective.
Aussi Commonsense - Gday Yoga is brimming with good old Aussi common sense and playfulness. It matters little if you can turn your body inside out or look like a pretzel. Who cares?
What matters, of course is that one practices gently and regularly - improvement will come at all levels. Gentle yoga poses are an indication of where the body needs attention - where blockages and imbalances exist.
Since no two bodies are the same - GDay Yoga is designed for the individual!
